November 16, 2011 Meeting Minutes
Members present at the Stonegrill Restaurant and Pub at noon: Tim Sargent, Marcia Marble, Gary Nolan, Mary Metcalf, Mark Sinow, Sherry Lussier, Jason McArthur, Rich Jacobs, Geoffrey Blume, Ted Lambert, and Phil Chiaravalle.
Guests: Nancy Sinow and Joe Ciccolo, Lamoille North Superintendent of Schools.
Acting Sargent at Arms Tim collected Happy Dollars from: Mark: today is Nancy’s birthday, Ted and Dr. Phil delivered the dictionaries to the Greensboro and Woodbury 3rd graders, Sherry-and her foster daughter have been together for one month, Mary-her son stationed in Iraq will be home in 2 weeks, Rich-is hosting his family for Thanksgiving, Joe-Thank you for the Dictionary Project, Tim-Thank you to Marcia for the Coat Drive, Jason- this is great weather in November to play golf, and Marcia- our good weather.
Sad Dollar: Sherry for Mary’s mother, Mrs. Merrill passing away last Thursday.
Dictionary Project: Dictionaries have been delivered to Greensboro and Woodbury. Marcia and Rich to go to Eden on Thursday. Deanna and Becky go to Hyde Park Elementary next Tuesday. Johnson, Elmore , Morristown and Craftsbury are waiting for a delivery date. Call Marcia to pick up the books.
Coat Drive: Marcia shared that Nick DeNoia’s cleaned 999 coats plus at least 30 came right to the church. Mary Collins picked up coats that she will send to the Dakota Indians that she works with. $32.15 was donated thru the drop box to the Holy Cross Church. Motion by Ted for Rotary to donate $68.00 for a total of $100.00 to Thank the Church for their participation. 2nd by Mary. Vote: all in favor. Motion by Ted to send $50.00 to DeNoia’s for their staff to use for ‘lunch’? as a thank you from Rotary. 2nd by Phil. Vote: all in favor.
Polar Splash: Morristown Playground Group will not apply to partner with Rotary in 2012. Please support this group with their upcoming Indoor Yard Sale on November 19th.
2010: Income tax return: Jason prepared and sent in the form.
Holiday Party: on December 2nd with Social Hour at 6:00 PM, Dinner at 7:00 PM at the Stonegrill Conference Room. Club members are asked to provide at least two items with value under $100.00. Speak with Jason for if you have a higher value item for the live Auction with Auctioneer, Cindy Locke. Deliver the items or call Poulos Insurance (888-3143) or Jason at 888-6600 to let them know what you Have. We hope to have 50+ items with most offered as a raffle. Buckets and tickets to be provided. Cost is $30.00 per person. Jason will provide the table gifts-view at the Party!. Ted will emcee. Mark and Nancy have offered two paintings: one by Carroll Jones and one by Lillian Zuber, local artists. Music: Karaoke machine? Dr. Phil to ask Mary Collins and Don Tobey if they will donate their evening. Jason was reminded to wear/bring the Cowboy Hat.
Morrisville Festival of Lights: Marcia made the motion for $40.00 to pay for one Rotary ad. Vote: approved.
NO MEETING on November 23, 2011. Happy Thanksgiving.
Raffle: NEW DECK. Winning card was not drawn.
