Meeting was held at noon at the Stonegrill Restaurant/Pub in Morrisville. Members present: Jason McArthur, Geoffrey Blume, Sherry Lussier, Mark Sinow, Marcia Marble,  Tricia Follert, Sharon Menard, Tim Sargent, Ted Lambert, Gary Nolan, Valerie Valcour, Tricia Follert, and Rich Jacobs.

Guest: Nancy Sinow.

Happy Dollars were collected by acting Sargent at Arms, Ted from Marcia; Tim, Marci- her brother is coming to visit and they will visit Jay Peak Ski Area, Jason-Union Bank Plunge Team, Sharon, and Gary-that his eye is better and Valerie is glad to be back.

Sad Dollars: Geoffrey hit a log with his car which then needed repairs.

Dictionary Project: Tim and Jason will deliver the dictionaries to Elmore next Tuesday.

POLAR SPLASH: sponsor ships are due next week to Cindy/Becky.

Jason shared upcoming meeting dates from the District Newsletter.  Please attend at least one of these meetings.  Carpooling and meeting expense reimbursement is available.  Valerie made the motion to pay the $65.00 per person fee for Cindy and Tricia to attend the Leadership Institute, Level 1, on March 31st.  2nd from Marcia.   Vote: in favor.

Speaker: Geoffrey spoke of his Army career which included two tours in Vietnam. He met Bruce Taylor while skiing and bought land adjacent to Bruce in North Wolcott.  Geoff was a construction contractor for several large buildings in Chicago and for other large infrastructure and road projects around the world.  He became a Rotarian while in Chicago with a club based at O’Hare Airport and later was the founding president for the Phnom Penh Club in Cambodia.  He was nominated to head the Polio Plus effort in Cambodia and when he left there, Cambodia was Polio free.  Japan mostly funded this project. Geoff is returning to Cambodia for a working visit later this month.  His projects today include mineral mines.

Meeting was held at noon at the Stonegrill Restaurant in Morrisville. Members present: Jason McArthur, Deanna Wood, Mary Metcalf, Marcia Marble, Tricia Follert, Sharon Menard, Tim Sargent, Ted Lambert, Becky Gonyea, Marci Henderson, Tricia Follert, Mark Sinow, Mark Cattelona, and new member, Rich Jacobs

Guest: Nancy Sinow and Doziel Marble.

Happy Dollars: Marcia, Tricia and Mark Cattelona.

Fines: Marcia fined Jason and Tim for not yet delivering the 3rd grader Dictionaries to Elmore Elementary School. They spun the wheel and paid the fine.

Jason shared the Treasurer’s report to those present. Let Jason know of any items to be included in next year’s budget.

Tim shared the speaker list which is set up alphabetically.  You can provide a speaker, share Rotary information, or share news of a personal trip that you have been on. Let Tim know in advance what you have planned.

POLIO PLUS CHALLENGE: Our club has given $100.00.  Future discussion  to do a special fund raiser.

Correspondence: Jason shared a letter from GMTCC regarding their thanking us for providing a $500.00 College Scholarship to their program.  They plan to have a Splash team.

2012-2013 CLUB OFFICERS: Rich has volunteered to be the recording Secretary. Thank you!

POLAR SPLASH: Committee meets tomorrow at 2:00 PM at the Chamber office.  All are invited to help. Becky shared how your business can be a Sponsor. Deadline is coming soon. Jason asked for Rotarians who will be jumping: Jason?, Tim, Roy?

Rotary Greeter: Jason spoke that this is a separate position in some clubs. Ted spoke that our Sargent at Arms is filling this position.  No further discussion.

Long Term Planning: Do we want to consider replacing the Polar Splash with another activity?? Discussion that when we dropped the Valentine’s Day Dance, it was taken by another group and therefore, we may not be able to recover an activity if we drop it.

ROCKTOBERFEST:  October 2012. Jason has promised the organizers that Rotary will be involved.
